About 'Album No. 4...'
What is real? I think about that all the time, and my songs are different reactions to that question. In this album I've come up with some contrary, wild, and, to me, deeply satisfying reflections of reality. I have been playing with Byron Isaacs (bass) and Bill Dobrow (drums) for 15 years and I feel like we are now like-minded seekers on the same journey. We use molded, anarchic improvisations; catchy but unusual melodies; Brill Building arrangements; personal dream imagery; Borscht Belt humor; and a vulnerable but in-tune everyman voice. Or, as my friend Carol Lipnik says "It sounds like Mr. Rogers is having a nervous breakdown."
- Lee Feldman
CD Release Show on May 23rd at Somethin' Jazz Club (212 E. 52nd St. (bet. 2nd & 3rd Ave.)) Shows at 7pm and 9pm. Make reservations now!

"A songwriter who is able to pack volumes into what seem to be very simple and often prosaic lyrics." - John Schaeffer, WNYC's New Sounds
"Lee Feldman uses a Tin Pan Alley bounce to make twisted or troubled situations sound like parlor songs." - The New York Times
"Lee Feldman plays the piano in just the dry, subtle, understated manner that his dry, subtle, understatedly hilarious songs call for." - Atlantic Monthly

Noam Weinstein's 'Clocked' (produced by Mike Viola) to be revealed on LEAP DAY (Feb 29)
NYC-based singer-songwriter-guitarist NOAM WEINSTEIN will be releasing his new album 'Clocked' on February 29.
Already, glowing advance reviews are coming in and we are thrilled to report that legendary DJ VIN SCELSA (Idiot's Delight) gave the album its first spins last week, and he says "I'll be playing him a lot, both on satellite radio and on WFUV"...
LEE ZIMMERMAN (No Depression) writes about 'Clocked':
"After half a dozen albums under his own auspices, Noam Weinstein has established a singular reputation as a confident and oftentimes quirky singer/songwriter. The cover of his latest disc -- showing him in a boxer ring hand in hand with a referee – attests to that notion, but as with his past releases, Weinstein’s newest set of performances is all but irresistible...Charm rather than chance is the key element here, as Weinstein nails every hook and shades his songs with rich melodic tapestries helped along by producer Mike Viola, a respected pop auteur in his own right."
FREE DOWNLOAD! 'OWE IT ALL' (a preview from 'Clocked') click here.
Produced by Mike Viola (Candy Butchers, Rachael Yamagata, Dan Bern) Starring Larry Goldings (De La Soul, James Taylor, Norah Jones) on keys Sebastian Steinberg (Soul Coughing, Fiona Apple, Neil Finn) on bass Steven Nistor (Danger Mouse, Daniel Lanois, Alison Krauss) on drums and a string trio featuring Eric Summer, Maureen Cole and Kate Sweet

Happy New Year and Welcome!
We launched Goldfish Prize at The Living Room in NYC last week, with our mentor, Bluey the lucky goldfish.
Check out these beautiful photos of the performers by Adam Jason Photography (below and on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.362438697103650.105965.283502914997...)

Dylan Connor joins Goldfish Prize!
We are thrilled to announce that Goldfish Prize will be working with Connecticut-NYC-based singer-songwriter DYLAN CONNOR on the upcoming release of his album Primitive Times (April, 2012).
Connor and co-producer Merritt Jacob (Trout Recording, The Epic Poets) have crafted a humble, joyous work of art, in which Connor's voice - at times reminiscent of Roy Orbison or Glenn Tilbrook from (Squeeze) - leads the listener along an empathetic path. From a gentle tribute to his friend and fellow musician’s lost battle with cancer (“Eric Spread Out”), to his unfaltering support for revolutionaries in his wife’s homeland of Syria (“Tattoo on Your Bones” and forthcoming, bonus track “Feza Feza”) to the unabashedly romantic “Lynchburg Lemonade” (with its nod to Springsteen) - we can't wait to share this album with you.
Connor's previous albums Breakaway Republic and Plug In were both produced by Bryce Goggin (Joan As Policewoman, Apples in Stereo), who first alerted us to his beautiful music. We are so excited to be working with him. More news about Dylan coming soon!
DAYNA KURTZ: First Australian Shows! December 2011
Dayna Kurtz: First Australian Shows!
When I first moved to NYC from Australia, there were a handful of singer-songwriters who completely blew my mind at the old Living Room (eg. Jenifer Jackson, Norah Jones, Lee Feldman, Tony Scherr...so many more...) and made me think I should stick around for a while, and try to learn what I could from these people, and the city that had drawn us all to that place.
12 years on in NYC, I'm still completely transfixed and inspired by the music of these same artists and many more and feel honoured and lucky to know them. DAYNA KURTZ is one of the these. I urge you to check out this song, for example.
Goldfish Prize has helped her book a few shows in Australia. Thank you to many of my friends there for helping to facilitate this.
Dayna has toured Europe and the USA extensively but this will be her first trip EVER to Australia. I wish I could also be there, so PLEASE WELCOME HER TO AUSTRALIA for me! :)

Welcome
If I could sing loudly (perhaps like Julie Andrews) I would stand atop of this mountain and share the melodies of Goldfish Prize artists with the entire world (followed by clear and detailed announcements of all their upcoming album release and show dates).
Mount Chincogan, Australia
However, one voice (even as lovely as Julie's) can only do so much.
I am hoping here to find true supporters and champions of these artists in the media (in all its forms) to help us spread the word extensively from this "mountain" of information within which we all live.
The musicians you will find here have inspired me immensely since I moved from Australia to New York City, over 12 years ago. I truly love their work, and feel that they should all be reaching a much wider audience. I am honoured that they have agreed to let me help them with publicity in the coming months.
To introduce ourselves, we offer you "Gifts" and hope you will explore these pages.
Please let me know if you would like individual PRESS KITS for or any additional information about any of the artists herein.
Thank you for visiting.
Kindly,
Greta Gertler
